IN REMEMBRANCE OF Tony Weaver
On behalf of the members of D. C. Connection RV Club, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Denise, Chris and Family on the passing of their beloved Tony. Tony and Denise Weaver joined D.C. Connection RV Club June 22, 2002. Right away we could tell that Tony was a very upbeat, charismatic, caring and loving soul.
He was the Masters of Ceremony for the 2002 NAARVA National Camp Rally at Bethpage RV Park in Urbanna, VA. He had such a savvy way of keeping the members engaged at this event that he was then asked to be the Masters of Ceremony at the 2003 NAARVA National Camp Rally held at the Sedalia Fairgrounds in Missouri. Tony was always willing to step up and give a helping hand. It was not long before his leadership skills were recognized which resulted in him serving as President of the D.C. Connection RV Club from 2003 – 2004. Tony was a devoted husband, father and family man. He and Denise thoroughly enjoyed giving Chris the experience of a lifetime traveling on the road in an RV. Tony really enjoyed RVing and the comradery of making new friends. We will always remember his witty ways and smile that could light up a room. He had a gentle and loving heart and we thank him for sharing it with us.
Rest peacefully, Dear Brother, YOU WILL BE MISSED

“IN CELEBRATION OF NORMA L. SAUNDERS”
Saturday, January 11, 2014,
On behalf of the members of DC Connection RV Club, we offer our sincere condolences to Norma’s Family and to our Brother Willie.
Norma, our beloved club member, was a very unique lady. When she and Willie joined our club on April 21, 2007, we knew it was a very special occasion for them and for us. Norma proved her seriousness and determination to be an active and dedicated member. Whenever the coach was down, she drove great distances in her nifty little sports car to be present at our meetings. When we think of Norma, we celebrate her independence and willingness to step up to the plate.
Norma was the type of woman who wanted to be part of the solution. She took an active role in the club and supported the decisions of each elected Executive Board. She also served two years as the Assistant Secretary under Past President Patrick Lynch. Norma was not hesitant about expressing her position and often had something to say that was logical and helpful. We appreciated her candor and her ability to see things clearly. Norma was not a woman who could be persuaded if she truly believed she had a valid point. She was well liked by every member in the club and that in itself is an accomplishment. Our club is very unique in that we are more like an extended family than a club. While we are sure that our sorrow pales in comparison to those who were even closer to her, rest assured that our hearts are also very heavy at this time.
Norma will be remembered for her beautiful white hair, her warm smile, her spontaneous laugh, her entrepreneurship, and her strong will to do whatever necessary to achieve her goals.
Rest peacefully, Dear Sister, YOU WILL BE MISSED.

“IN REMEMBRANCE OF MIRIAM GILBERT”
Monday, October 21, 2013
On behalf of the members of DC Connection RV Club, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Ray and Family on the loss of Miriam. Miriam, short in stature, gigantic in generosity.
Ray and Miriam Gilbert joined DC Connection RV Club May 18, 2002. They were the first to join the original six Founding Members. Miriam had a talent for creating beautiful floral arrangements in addition to a variety of numerous novelty decorations she used to adorn our dinner tables and other club events. Members have purchased her items and many were gifted with something special she made.
Miriam was always one of the first people to volunteer whenever we needed help. Miriam served on the Hospitality Committee and could always be counted on to give 110%. She never said “no” when asked to participate in club activities. She volunteered to supervise the youth when our club hosted the Eastern Region Rally in 2005. She was excited to plan the games and activities for them to enjoy. Her energy was amazing. Miriam loved to dance and even performed a liturgical interpretation at our Annual Family and Friends Weekend last July. It was simply beautiful and brought tears to the eyes of many. We were so fortunate to have captured her performance on video.
Miriam will be remembered for her friendliness and for that jazzy red hat she wore to the Red Hat Tea Parties where we celebrated our new members. She will also be remembered for her love of family. Miriam truly loved her daughter, her grandchildren and all her “kids”. After years of having her home filled with children of all ages, she and Ray finally had the house to themselves. But we know that GOD was in the midst of their home, and He will welcome her into her new home and continue to dwell with Ray. Halleluiah!
Miriam always greeted everyone with a hug. She was tough and feisty and tender at the same time. SHE WILL BE MISSED.

“REFLECTIONS
OF GERI LYNCH”
Friday, February 9th, 2013
On behalf of D C Connection RV Club, we want to extend our sincere condolences to Patrick and the Family on the loss of your beloved Germaine. She has been an inspiration to us all. We admired her strength and tenacity, and we will truly miss her welcoming smile.
Germaine, affectionately referred to as “Geri Girl” by the ladies of the club, and Patrick joined DC Connection on June 13th, 2009. Whether she and Pat came alone or with the grandchildren, they knew how to have a relaxing good time. Geri was always excited about going on the road. She loved camping, especially the trips to the Black Cowboy Rodeo Festival.
Geri was passionate about club issues and offered many suggestions “for the betterment of the club”, and she was always eager to volunteer her assistance. Whatever the activity, you could count on Geri to be at the forefront to make sure everything was in order. It was her pleasure to serve on the Hospitality Committee. She loved our Club Red Hat Tea Society luncheons and was delighted in the many special sisterhood moments we shared.
During Pat’s two-year tenure as President of DC Connection, he received many accolades and honors, however, we know that as the old adage goes, behind every great man there is a greater woman. That woman was First Lady Germaine, his wife and companion, and our dear friend. She was so supportive.
Geri had some good days and some not so good days, but she was determined to make the effort to fellowship with us.
Geri, our hearts are heavy and tears will flow as we are reminded of the good times, the laughter and fun we shared with you. You will be with us in spirit, and we will be guided by the memories of your kindness, dedication and friendship.
